Indeed.
I love film. And television. So much.
I love getting swept up into a movie and losing all sense of time passing.
I love entering whole other worlds and temporarily abandoning reality.
I love cinematography so beautiful it leaves me breathless.
I love characters so real I am filled with empathy.
I love relationships between characters that leave me squealing in delight or sighing in despair.
I love stories that captivate, educate, challenge, entertain, provoke emotions or thoughts.
I really love movies.
And I watch a lot of them.
Which is probably why I’m studying film…
In the last seven days, I have seen nine movies.
Psycho
Night & Fog
Never Let Me Go
The Adjustment Bureau
Cowboys and Aliens
Whip It
Jane Eyre
Tangled
High School
Probably some of the least similar films ever! Yet every single one of them had me transfixed from beginning to end. I was intrigued, horrified, moved, confused, engaged, amused, captivated, joyful and fascinated.
I really hope that one day I can create something that leaves at least one person feeling at least one of those emotions utterly and completely.
.
And now… I must begin my two assignments due Friday and Tuesday, both of which involve (surprise surprise)… watching movies!
MAS213 is the best…

To be perfectly honest, this photo is why I decided to revive actually start this blog. I feel the need to express just how I feel about this (and this is one of those instances where Twitter is just not suitable :P).
I love Camp Rock. Not just for the Jonas Brothers. I honestly just adore the movie. I’m not ashamed (ok, maybe a little..but shh) to admit that it is on my list of all-time favourite movies. This movie literally changed my life (but more on that later perhaps…)
Having said that, you’d think I’d be ecstatic about a sequel. And part of me is. But most of me is terrified, of two different things.
1) Firstly, that sequel will be better than the original - meaning that the first one will be ruined to me, in a sense.
2) But what I’m dreading the most is that Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam will not be Camp Rock 2 at all, but rather ‘Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato Star Vehicle #2’.
As much as this picture makes me swoon, it also makes me quite sad. That is very clearly Demi sitting there, not Mitchie Torres. Oh hi, Joe. You’re gorgeous, yes. But not Shane Gray.
Ever since they announced the sequel, I’ve been curious as to whether they would be able to step back into the old characters - but I always assumed they would at least try to look like the same person still.
(I will admit, though: I am VERY much looking forward to seeing Kevin’s part in this. This year my love for Kevin has grown exponentially and I am so proud of his acting improving - go watch Camp Rock, and then JONAS…Wow.)
Oh well.
Even if that is what ends up happening, I do know one thing:
I’ll still watch it.
And I’ll still love it. :P
